The 11 Days Tanzania Northern Circuit Safari is one of the most iconic safaris to do in Tanzania. This safari takes place along the Tanzania Northern Circuit which is a very prominent route to follow in East Africa as it offers you an unforgettable wildlife experience across Tanzania’s National Parks. These include; Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire National Park, and Lake Manyara National Park. While on the safari, you view diverse terrain landscapes , abundant wildlife animal species.

Detailed Itinerary of the 11 Days Tanzania Northern Circuit Safari

Day 1: Transfer to Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

Arrive at the Kilimanjaro International Airport where you are picked up by a driver guide who transfers you to Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park via the Isebania border for a period of 6 to 7 hours. En-route have lunch, views at the green vegetation and bird species then later, you shall get to the park.

Have an en-route Game Drive as you proceed to check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight.  Serengeti Sopa Lodge.

Day 2: Full Day in Serengeti National Park

Have breakfast then proceed on a full Day Game Drive in Serengeti National Park Tanzania. After breakfast, continue with packed lunch transfer to the park to enjoy a full day Game Drive as you traverse from one point of the park to another watching wildlife animals wander around their natural vegetation habitat.

The wildlife animals you view are lion, leopard, elephant, rhinoceros, and buffalo, zebra, giraffe, cheetah, wildebeest, hippo etc. Take photos to keep then at mid day, break off for lunch and later continue on another session of Game Drive which goes till late evening. After the Game Drive, return to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Serengeti Sopa Lodge.

Day 3: Drive to Ngorongoro Crater

Morning breakfast then embark on journey to the stunning Ngorongoro Crater located a few kilometers off Serengeti National Park.

You shall transfer for a period of 2 to 3 hours with views of the green terrain, bird species en-route then after a while reach the park and enjoy an en-route game drive as you proceed to check-in lodge for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge.

Day 4: Full Day Game Drive in Ngorongoro Crater

Today you explore Ngorongoro Crater on Full day Game Drive. Have breakfast then with your packed lunch, you shall transfer to the park to enjoy watching the wildlife animals wander around their natural vegetation habitat.

The wildlife animals you watch in Ngorongoro include; Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, elephant, white Rhino, Black Rhino, buffalos, etc. You shall break off for lunch at mid day then later continue on another session of Game Drive that goes trill late evening. After taking many photos, you shall return to lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge.

Day 5:Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park

Wake up early have breakfast then transfer on en-route game drive via the stunning Lake Manyara National Park where you watch many wildlife animals like tree-climbing lions, elephants, giraffes, hippos, bird species, baboons, monkeys and antelopes.

After wards, you shall proceed on journey to check-in lodge for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Lake Manyara Wildlife Lodge.

Day 6: Full Day Game Drive in Lake Manyara National Park

Early morning breakfast then transfer on a full day game drive around the stunning Lake Manyara National Park. Traverse various tracks in the park watching wildlife wander around their natural habitat.

The wildlife animals you watch include; Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, elephant, white Rhino, Black Rhino, buffalos, etc. You shall break off for lunch at mid day then later continue on another session of Game Drive that goes trill late evening. Dinner and Overnight. Lake Manyara Wildlife Lodge.

Day 7: Transfer to explore the Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast, pack your bags and depart  to exit the serengeti National Park as you enter the lovely  Ngorongoro Crater, an early start to the day is best in order to avoid the later influx of tourists into the Ngorongoro Crater. The park gate opens at 0600, so it is best to be there as close to this time as possible. There are a number of lions which are typically larger in size than an average lion due the large amount of game in the area. The crater floor tends to get very busy, with there often being numerous vehicles at any wildlife sighting.

Day 8: Drive to Lake Eyasi

Drive to Lake Eyasi, a mildly alkaline lake about 55km long. If seeing hundreds of species of birds excites you, Lake Eyasi is a perfect destination for you to see flamingos, pelicans, spoonbills, weavers, spurfowls, storks, barbets, egrets and more. The visit includes meeting the Hadzabe & Datoga people and spend the day observing their ways. The Hadzabe is an indigenous tribe known as the hunter gatherer Bushmen. Visit their homesteads and learn more about their life style. Hunting in groups with bows and arrows, this tribe is able to survive with what the environment provides. The Hadzabe bushmen treat diseases with their own medicines. The Hadzabe speak a very unique click language. Apart from this cultural activity the area offers superb hiking, bird watching and beautiful scenery. (with lunch, dinner & breakfast)

Day 9: Flight to Zanzibar

After breakfast, pack your bags, depart camp transfer to Arusha airstrip. Here you will bid your guide farewell as you board your flight to Zanzibar. Meet and greet upon arrival at Zanzibar airport exit point by our team, pick up and transfer to your Zanzibar hotel. Check in freshen up and spend the rest of the day at your hotel, where you’ll have free time to relax or have leisure walks on the beach. Once refreshed you will then make your way to the dining area for dinner. Overnight stay in Zanzibar Dinner & Breakfast included) HB

Day 10: Explore the beatiful Zanzibar

Depending on your preference on day 8 and 11, there are a variety of optional activities available. Your days are therefore open to be structured as you choose, with either as much relaxing by the pool, or as many activities as you wish. Options are: Option 1: JOZANI & SPICE TOUR Morning breakfast and get ready for the drive to Jozani Forest to enjoy seeing the Red Colobus monkeys. After, proceed to the Spice farm, where you can see a variety of spice plants and herbs. Testing the fruits and spices will give you the authentic taste. After the tours, drive back to your lodge for dinner & overnight (HB)

Day 11: Departure to Airport

Wake up have breakfast then embark on departure to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where you bord your flight back home.
