Detailed Itinerary of the 10 Day Rwanda & Uganda Safari

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali, Rwanda

Arrive at the Kigali International Airport where you are welcomed by a driver guide who takes you through a meet and greet session then later transfer you  to your lodge/ hotel for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Hotel Chezlando.

Day 2: Kigali City Tour

Wake up early have breakfast then transfer to enjoy a city tour around Kigali visiting the Genocide memorials, National Museums and National Market to buy some souvenir to take with you back home. On reaching the Genocide Memorials, you shall be informed about the tragic Genocide in which many Rwandans lost their dear lives. You shall hear stories direct from the victims of the Genocide and view the items they left behind as well as skeletons. After your adventure, you shall return back to lodge/ hotel for Dinner and Overnight. Hotel Chezlando.

Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Breakfast in the morning then transfer to Volcanoes National Park located a few kilometers off the busy town of Kigali. The journey takes a period of 2 to 3 hours via rolling hills, deviating canopies, green vegetation till you reach the amazing Park in Kinigi. On reaching here, you shall go to check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Five Volcanoes Lodge.

Day 4: Golden Monkey Trekking at Volcanoes

Today you get to trek and watch the amazing Golden Monkeys in their natural forest vegetation habitat. You shall wake up early have breakfast then transfer to the Kinigi Park headquarters for short briefing on conduct in the presence of the Golden Monkeys. After precise briefing, you shall be allocated into groups of 8 with lead park rangers who transfer you to the forest to track the Golden Monkeys.

Follow varying trails from one point to another tracing the Golden Monkeys and when you meet them, watch them as they jump from one tree branch to the next. Take many photos to keep of them then after a while, return back to your lodge for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Five Volcanoes Lodge.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking at Volcanoes National Park

Early Morning breakfast then transfer to the Kinigi Park headquarters for precise briefing on conduct around the Mountain Gorillas, Reach here and get welcomed by a park ranger guide who takes you through precise briefing regarding the code o conduct in the presence of the Gorillas then after he shall locate you into groups of 8 with lead park ranger guides who lead you to the starting points.

You shall then enter the green forest vegetation to trek the Gorillas or a period of 3 to 5 hours depending on their current location following varying trails from one point to another. After a while, you shall meet the Gorillas and stay in their presence for a period of 1 hour taking many photos to keep.

After trekking the Gorillas, you shall return back to your lodge for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Five Volcanoes lodge.

Day 6: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park

Enjoy breakfast in the morning then embark on transfer to the vast prominent Nyungwe Forest National Park. You shall transfer for a period of 6 to 7 hours via green terrain vegetation, rolling hills. You shall have lunch en-route then after a while, reach the Park and check-in lodge for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Nyungwe Hill Top View Hotel.

Day 7: Chimpanzee Tracking in Nyungwe Forest

Early morning breakfast then transfer to the park headquarters for short briefing on conduct around the Chimpanzees. On reaching here, you shall be welcomed by park ranger guides who take you through briefing about Chimpanzee Tracking, Chimpanzees and Nyungwe Forest then later allocate you into groups of 8 with lead park ranger guides who transfer you to the starting points where you leave from to enter the green forest to track the chimpanzees.

Follow varying trails in the forest from one point to another in a period of 2 to 4 hours then after a while, you shall meet the chimpanzees and stay in their presence for an hour taking many photos to keep. After tracking the chimpanzees, you shall return to lodge for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Nyungwe Hill Top View Hotel.

Day 8: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda

Delicious breakfast then embark on transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park in Uganda. You shall proceed to traverse the border from Rwanda into Uganda. You shall transfer enjoying views of the green terrain vegetation, bird species as well as lunch.

After a while, you shall reach the Park and check-in lodge for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Mweya Safari Lodge.

Day 9: Game Drive and Boat Cruise

Get up early have breakfast then transfer to the park to enjoy a Game Drive along the varying tracks. You shall transfer in a 4×4 wheel vehicle from one point to another watching various wildlife animals wander around their natural vegetation habitat. The wildlife animals you watch include; Elephants, buffaloes, hippos, Uganda kobs, and waterbucks, Predators: Lions, leopards, spotted hyenas, and side-striped jackals etc.

After the Game Drive at mid day, break off for lunch then in the afternoon, proceed to enjoy an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. on reaching here, you shall get on the boat and cruise along the channel watching various wildlife animals along the shores, schools of hippo and crocodiles beneath the waters an adventure so exceptional. After the Boat Cruise, you shall return back to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Mweya Safari Lodge.

Day 10: Departure to Kampala

Morning breakfast then embark on departure to Kampala or the Entebbe International Airport to board flight back home.
