Detailed Itinerary of the 20 Days Uganda Rwanda Adventure Safari
Day 1: Arrival from Entebbe International Airport
Upon arrival at the Entebbe International Airport, you are welcomed by a driver guide who takes you through a meet and greet session about the 20 Days Uganda Rwanda Safari. He shall then transfer you to check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Protea Hotel Entebbe.
Day 2: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
Morning breakfast then transfer to the western part of Uganda to visit the stunning Lake Mburo National Park. You transfer for 3 to 4 hours watching the green terrain, bird species, Ankole cattle. You shall pass by Kayabwe at the equator where you pose for many photos to keep.
Afterwards, you shall proceed to have lunch at the Igongo Cultural Centre. After lunch, continue to the park to enjoy an afternoon Game Drive along thwe various tracks in the park. Watch various wildlife species wandering around their natural vegetation habitat. These include; zebras, impalas, elands, buffaloes, and a variety of antelope species. After the Game Drive, continue to check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Mburo Safari Lodge.
Day 3: Game drive and Boat Cruise
Wake up, enjoy breakfast then proceed to have a Game Drive in the park. In your 4×4 wheel vehicle, traverse from one point to another watching wildlife wander around their natural habitat. Watch wildlife animals like zebras, impalas, elands, buffaloes, hyenas, warthogs, and a variety of antelope species.
After the Game Drive, you shall break off for lunch then after proceed to the shores of Lake Mburo for precise briefing then later embark on a Boat Cruise for a period of 3 hours. You shall get on a boat and cruise around the Lake watching many wildlife animals along the shores breaking their thirst, crocodiles and hippos beneath the waters. After taking many photos, you shall return to your lodge for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Mburo Safari Lodge.
Day 4: Game drive and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Breakfast then transfer on an en-route Game Drive which offers you views of wildlife animals like zebras, impalas, elands, buffaloes, hyenas, warthogs, and a variety of antelope species. Take many photos and continue on journey. You shall then leave the park towards the South West of Uganda at Lake Bunyonyi for a period of 5 to 6 hours hours. After a while, you shall reach here go to check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Bunyonyi Overland Resort.
Day 5: Boat Cruise and Nature walk
Delicious morning breakfast then transfer to the shores of Lake Bunyonyi where you leave to enjoy a Boat Cruise. You shall find guides here who shall locate you into groups then cruise you around the Lake as you watch the various Islands at a distance. After the cruise and taking photos, you shall proceed back to the shores so as to have lunch.
After lunch, continue to enjoy a guided nature walk around the vegetation enfolding the lake. You can also visit the nearby local villages to learn about the Bakiga people. After the adventure, you shall proceed back to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Bunyonyi Overland Resort.
Day 6: Transfer to Kisoro (visit the coffee plantations) to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Wake up have breakfast then transfer to visit the coffee plantations in Kisoro. On reaching here, learn about the coffee, plantation procedure, tasting and manufacturing. You shall get to know more about the entire coffee-making process, from the plant to the cup. After the adventures, embark on journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for a period of 3 to 4 hours. After a while, reach Bwindi and check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Day 7: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest (Ruhija Sector)
Delicious early morning breakfast then transfer to the park headquarters. Reaching here, you are welcomed by park ranger guides who take you through precise briefing on conduct while in the presence of the Gorillas. They inform you about Bwindi Forest, Mountain Gorilla Groups, Gorilla Trekking process and other safari adventures to do in the park.
Afterwards, he allocates you into groups of 8 with lead park ranger guides who take you to the starting points where you leave from to enter the Green forest vegetation and trek the Mountain Gorillas for a period of 3 to 5 hours depending on their current location. After a while following the trails in the forest, you shall meet the Gorillas and in an hour stay in their presence taking many photos. Day 8: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park Rwanda
Morning breakfast at the lodge then embark on transfer to traverse the Uganda Rwanda border to the prominent Volcanoes National Park. The journey takes you a period of 3 to 5 hours watching the green terrain, bird species. After a while, you shall reach the park and continue to check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Day 9: Gorilla Trekking at Volcanoes National Park
Today, you get to trek the rare species of Mountain Gorillas in their natural forest vegetation habitat. You shall have breakfast then proceed to the Kinigi Park headquarters for precise briefing on conduct around the Gorillas. On reaching here, you shall enjoy a cup of hot coffee, cappucino, milk tea, black tea, etc then later proceed on a briefing session where he informs you about Volcanoes National Park, Mountain Gorillas, Golden Monkey Tracking as well as other safaris to do in the park.
Afterwards, he shall allocate you into groups of 8 with lead ranger guides who take you to the starting points where you leave from to enter the green forest and trek the Gorillas. Follow varying trails in the forest for 3 to 5 hours and after you shall meet the Gorillas and stay in their presence for an hour taking many photos to keep. After trekking the Gorillas, you shall return back to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Five Volcanoes Lodge.
Day 10: Golden Monkey Tracking at Volcanoes National Park
Early morning breakfast then proceed to the park headquarters for short briefing on conduct around the Golden Monkeys. When you reach the Kinigi Park headquarters, you shall be welcomed and offered a cup of hot tea, cappucino, hot milk, black tea then later get briefed about the dos and don’ts while tracking Golden Monkeys.
You shall be allocated into groups of 8 with lead ranger guides who take you to the starting points where you leave from to enter the forest and track the Golden Monkeys. Follow varying trails for 2 to 4 hours till you meet the Golden monkeys and when you get to them, spend an hour in their presence taking photos of them playing, communicating, foraging, playing as they jump from one tree branch to the next. After trekking the Golden Monkeys, you shall return to lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Five Volcanoes Lodge.
Day 11: Bisoke Hike in Volcanoes National Park
Early morning breakfast then transfer on a moderate to challenging hike of 6 to 7 hours along Mount Bisoke Volcano at Volcanoes National Park. You shall depart at 6:00 Am to the base of the Mountain Volcano where you meet our assigned park ranger who take you through precise briefing bout hiking the remarkable Mount Bisoke. You shall be assigned porters to help you carry luggage, gear as you navigate through the green bushy terrain vegetation.
Follow an ascent through verdant vegetation i.e bamboo, hagenia forest and steep, muddy trails to get to the top. You shall reach the top at 12:30 pm and enjoy panoramic views of the crater lake, Virunga Mountains, emerald green lake which is about 400 meters in diameter. At 1: 00 pm, you shall have lunch at the summit then later begin your descent back to the trail head for a period of 2 to 3 hours. After a while, you reach at the trail head where you finish your hiking adventure then return to park headquarters for your certificate. Day 12: Transfer to Gisenyi Town
Enjoy breakfast in the morning then embark on transfer to Gisenyi Town. Getting to Gisenyi shall take you a period of 1 to 2 hours watching the green terrain, bird species. After a while reach Gisenyi then proceed to visit the tea plantations. On reaching here, you shall be taken through the tea making process from the garden to the cup. After the adventure, go check-in at Lake Kivu Serena Lodge.
Day 11: Boat cruise on Lake Kivu
Wake up have breakfast then later proceed on a Boat Cruise along Lake Kivu. On reaching the shores, you shall be briefed and informed about the vast Lake kivu then later shall cruise along the lake watching Islands at a distance like Napoleon Island. These also offer you a chance to watch many bird species. After the cruise, return to lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Lake Kivu Serena Lodge.
Day 12: Transfer to Nyungwe forest national Park
You wake up have breakfast then embark on transfer to the prominent Nyungwe Forest National Park. Getting here will take you a period of 1 to 2 hours from Rubavu Town. After a while, you shall reach Nyungwe and continue to check-in lodge for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel.
Day 13: Chimpanzee Trekking at Nyungwe forest
Early morning breakfast then transfer to the headquarters for precise briefing on conduct around the chimpanzees. You shall reach here and get briefed on conduct around the Chimpanzees then later he shall locate you into groups of 8 with lead ranger guides. Afterwards, the rangers shall lead you to the starting points where you leave from to enter the green forest vegetation and track the chimpanzees.
Follow varying trails in the forest for a period of 2 to 4 hours until you meet the chimpanzees. On meeting the chimpanzees, you shall stay in their presence for an hour taking many photos to keep. Day 14: Canopy Walk and transfer to Kigali
Early morning breakfast then proceed to the park to enjoy a canopy walk along the walkway which is 6o meters above the ground at the top of the Mahogany gigantic Trees of Nyungwe. You meet park ranger guides who brief you about the conduct while on the walkway then later transfer you to the starting point where you leave from to traverse to the other side.
On your adventure, you shall be able to watch many monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, as well as various plains at a distance. After the adventure, you shall return back to the base then embark on transfer to Kigali. The journey takes you 5 to 7 hours and when you reach, check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Day 15: Transfer to Akagera National Park
Morning breakfast then embark on transfer to the amazing famous Akagera National Park. You shall transfer for a period of 3 to 4 hours from Kigali with en-route views of the green terrain, bird species as well as rolling hills of Rwanda. After a while, you reach the park and continue on an en-route Game Drive as you proceed to check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Akagera Game Lodge.
Day 16: Full Day Game Drive in Akagera National Park
Early morning breakfast then with packed lunch embark on transfer to the park to enjoy a full Day Game Drive in the park. You shall reach the park and traverse from one point to another watching many wildlife animals wandering around their natural habitat.
The wildlife animals you watch include; lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras and various antelope species. Take many photos of these to keep with you. AT mid day, you shall break off for lunch then later continue on another session of Game Drive which goes till late evening. After the Game Drive, return to lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Day 17: Game drive and boat cruise
Delicious early morning breakfast then embark on Game drive in the park. You shall transfer in a 4×4 wheel vehicle traversing from one point to another watching various wildlife animals species wander around their natural vegetation habitat. The wildlife animals you watch include; lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, various antelope species, as well as numerous bird species, including the rare shoebill stork.
After the Game Drive, you shall break off for lunch then later proceed to Lake Ihema to enjoy an afternoon Boat Cruise. The cruise takes a period of 3 hours offering you views of wildlife animals along the shores breaking thirst as well as crocodiles and hippos beneath te waters. Day 18: En-route Game Drive and Transfer to Kigali
Morning breakfast then have an en-route Game Drive watching various wildlife animals in the park then afterwards, you shall proceed to the stunning clean City of Kigali. Transfer for a period of 2 to 3 hours watching the green terrain vegetation, bird species as well as have lunch en-route. Day 19: Kigali City Tour (Genocide Memorials)
Today you get to explore the clean organized city of Kigali. Enjoy breakfast at leisure then continue to the city and continue to go visiting the various Genocide Memorials, National Museums and National Market. When you reach the Genocide Memorials, you shall listen to stories from the survivors of the Genocide who narrate to you how the tragic genocide took the lives of their loved ones. Take many photos to keep then proceed to the National Museum as well as market where you buy souvenir to keep with you. After the adventure, get back to hotel for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Day 20: Departure at Kigali international Airport
Wake up have breakfast then with your luggage embark on departure to the Kigali International Airport to board your flight back home.
